Family members to an Arkansas man who was slain in 1999 gracefully reached out to the killer’s daughter prior to his execution Thursday.

Inmate and former gang member Kenneth Williams, 38, was serving a life sentence behind bars for the Dec. 1998 murder of University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff cheerleader, Dominique Hurd. The following day, Williams hit and killed water delivery truck driver Michael Greenwood, a husband and father of three.

Greenwood’s daughter, Kayla, reportedly learned in days prior to Williams’ death penalty sentence that his daughter, Jasmine, hadn’t seen her father in nearly two decades. Jasmine was only five when her father was placed behind bars, Kaylasaid in an emotional interviewwith the Springfield News-Leader.

Earlier this week, Kayla reached out to Jasmine after receiving her phone contact information from William’s attorney.

Arkansas executions face new criticism after ‘horrifying' death

Williams led the police on a high-speed chase to Missouri and crashed the stolen truck, killing 24-year-old Michael Greenwood

Michael Greenwood’s wife at the time, Stacey, who has since remarried, offered to purchase plane tickets for Jasmine to spend time with her father in his final moments.

Kayla and other family members drove her to the Varner Supermax prison in Grady, Ark., Wednesday.

"I told him we forgive him and where I stood on it. (Jasmine) said that when the warden read the email to him, he broke out in tears. When he found out that we are bringing his daughter and granddaughter to see him and that my mom and dad bought the tickets, he was crying to the attorney. He was sad and couldn't talk to us."

Williams is one of eight Arkansas death row inmates set to be executed over the course of several days.
